A. Gphomestay is a residential services provider specializing in matching international students with dedicated American host families.

Q: What kind of services does gphomestay offer?

A. Gphomestay empowers international students to achieve the genuine American educational experience by matching students with warm, welcoming American host families and providing local, ongoing support for both students and hosts.

Specifically, gphomestay offers:

-Recruitment and screening of all host applicants to ensure that all of our students live with caring, qualified families (screening includes home inspections and background checks).

-On-going support from a local staff member, including monthly check-ins completed either in-person or on the phone.

-Additional services are available depending on location, including: housing progress reports, participation in cultural activities, tutoring, and university consulting.

Q: How does gphomestay find a host family for me?

A. Gphomestay relies on its on-the-ground, local staff members to locate warm, caring hosts in your community. Because our staff members live in the community, we are able to interview host families and review the home of our hosts in-person.

Q: Can gphomestay help me find a school?

A. Although gphomestay does not specialize in helping students enroll in American schools, our sister company, The Cambridge Institute of International Education, works with over 200 American high schools and would be happy to help you locate and enroll in a school that fits your needs. Q. Can gphomestay help me ensure that my students have the proper health insurance and immunizations that are needed to study in the United States?

A. Absolutely! Gphomestay and its sister company The Cambridge Institute of International Education are well versed in the requirements for study abroad. Together, we would be happy to help you coordinate your students’ health insurance and immunizations to ensure that all students meet the federal requirements for studying abroad.

Q: Is there a member of gphomestay who I can contact in case of emergencies?

A. Yes. Each community we work with has a local Residential Coordinator who serves as your primary point of contact for any questions you have regarding your homestay. Additionally, each community has its own Residential Manager stationed at one of our central offices around the United States.

Q. Does gphomestay screen the host families it provides? How does this screening work?

A. We’re dedicated to thoroughly screening our hosts in order to ensure they are qualified to accommodate you. This screening process includes a phone interview, an online application, a background check, and a site inspection of the potential host’s home.

Q. What requirements does gphomestay hold for its hosts?

A. At gphomestay, we hold our hosts to a higher standard.

First and foremost, we expect all hosts to welcome students into their home as another member of their family and to supervise the student as one would his or her own child. Additionally, all students are provided a private bedroom containing a bed, desk and dresser.

Additionally, students have the opportunity to receive 2-3 meals per day and/or daily transportation to and from schools should the student prefer.

Q. How does gphomestay set its standard for my homestay?

A. We are proud to set our standard according to the Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (CSIET), the preeminent organization for vetting international educational travel providers. The fact that we have been recognized by  CSIET for matching their lofty standards reflects gphomestay’s commitment to providing a safe and accommodating homestay program for students and host families.

A. The Cambridge Institute of International Education and gphomestay are sister companies who operate under common ownership and frequently collaborate to deliver holistic solutions to American secondary schools and colleges seeking to build international student programs.

While gphomestay focuses on residential solutions, The Cambridge Institute provides both the marketing and recruitment services that enable schools to attract international students as well as the comprehensive support that empowers schools to ensure their program thrives. Because The Cambridge Institute and gphomestay share this close relationship, both companies are able to offer partners the breadth of services needed to build and subsequently enhance an international student program.

A. The price of joining gphomestay as a student depends on a number of factors, including age of the student, length of stay and location.

Moreover, gphomestay is pleased to offer all students, regardless of the student’s age, duration of stay and location a variety of homestay packages, each of which varies in price depending on the services the student requests.
